What is Industrial Hemp?
Usually found in the northern hemisphere, there are several species of the fast-growing Cannabis plant, which are well known as industrial hemp. They are usually grown for the industrial use of their derived products. Infact, they are one of the first plants to be spun into usable fiber almost 10,000 years ago. Industrial hemp has been in use in different industries and for different purposes ranging from the production of many different commercially available products like paper, clothing, textiles, biofuel, paint, insulation, biodegradable plastic and even animal feed.
Industrial hemp, also known as Cannabis Sativa as opposed to other species of the Cannabis plant, contains a lower concentration of the compound THC (tetrahydrocannabidiol- a psychoactive compound) and a higher concentration of CBD (cannabidiol). This high concentration of CBD eliminates or neutralizes the psychoactive effects of industrial hemp.
Apart from its use in various commercial products, industrial hemp also has other applications and uses in the food, agriculture and manufacturing of different materials.
When consumed, it provides the body a good dose of B vitamins and many other dietary minerals like magnesium, manganese, phosphorous, zinc, iron and more.
Hemp fibers are also known to be very strong and often act as a replacement for wood in many building projects. A plaster prepared using industrial hemp acts as a wonderful insulating agent for construction projects.
What’s more, it has also been used for the production of biofuel in the recent years. When it comes to being environment-friendly, hemp is great! It doesn’t need a lot to grow and flourish except for adequate fertilizers and is also now being used to clean up soil that has been contaminated with fly ash, sewage sludge and other heavy metals.
While its legalization is still questionable in many countries, some governments have allowed for the use of industrial hemp that has a regulated concentration of THC, and have permitted the use of hemp that is bred with low levels of the psychoactive compound.
Cannabis Sativa is a miracle plant and our CBD Hemp oils are extracted from organically grown HEMP farms in India. The THC content in our oils is less than 0.3% which is a negligible amount making it legal for daily consumption in India.
What is CBD?
CBD, short for cannabidiol, came into the limelight when it demonstrated its ability to stop an epileptic seizure right in its tracks on national television. Since, then, after several studies and findings, it was also revealed that it was actually a miracle compound that helped calm anxiety, stop spasms and also provide relief from chronic pain.
It is basically a cannabis compound that has been found to offer significant medical benefits, but at the same time, it does not leave one feeling ‘stoned’ as it is often misunderstood to do. Infact, if anything, it can actually counteract the psychoactivity of THC (tetrahydrocannabidiol). It is one of the 113 active cannabinoids that are found in the Cannabis Sativa plant and makes up for nearly 40% of the plant’s extract.
Over the years, due to the controversy and hype surrounding the use of other cannabis extracts that had psychoactive properties, the benefits associated with the use of CBD took a backstage. It is now that its medical potential is gaining an increased importance.
It has been found that CBD binds to the CB2 receptors that are present in the body’s immune system, and thereby reduces inflammation and therefore chronic pain associated with it. What’s more, studies have also found CBD to be effective in reducing nausea, suppressing seizures and displaying antipsychotic, anti-cancer, antioxidant, anti-depressant and anti-inflammatory properties. CBD has been found to be effective against a wide array of health problems including spasms, nausea, anxiety, pain, seizures, depression, PTSD, infections and even life-threatening diseases like cancer.
There is, however, a lot of misconception surrounding CBD, and many even believe it causes a ‘high,’ which is not true. That is infact, what happens when THC binds with the CB1 receptors in the brain and affects memory processing, motor control and pain regulation. The psychoactive effects associated with the use of cannabinoids comes from THC alone, not when THC and CBD complement each other- also known as the entourage effect. This effect states that the combination of the compounds has effects that would not have been felt with any of the compounds alone.
What is CBD Hemp Oil?
Also known as cannabidiol oil, CBD hemp oil is a natural plant extract that is usually found in the stalk, seeds and buds of the cannabis plant. It contains CBD, which is one of the most common (and popular) of the 85+ cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant.
Contrary to the popular misconception, CBD hemp oil doesn’t induce a state of ‘high’ post its consumption. The euphoric high is actually the result of consumption of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is also one of the common cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Owing to the psychoactive nature of certain hemp products and extracts, there are strict rules and regulations in some nations of the world pertaining their use, even for medical purposes.
In the recent years, because of its varied applications in healthcare and medicine, CBD hemp oil has gained a lot of popularity. It has been found to help tackle everything from chronic pain and sleep disorders to even major health concerns (like cancer) and their associated side effects.
Infact, pure CBD hemp oil can also be freely consumed as a nutritional supplement- that’s just how great it is at what it does!
More and more new studies are revealing groundbreaking results about the many applications and uses of this near-miracle oil, which has also led to an increase in the manufacture of CBD derived products, specifically hemp oil. CBD hemp oil is also found in the form of capsules, drops and even chewing gum in certain cases. Concentrated CBD oil is now also being used as a component in many skin and body care products, and is also often applied topically.

It has been found that cannabidiol can act as an excellent pain reliever for individuals suffering from conditions like multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis and other chronic pain related conditions.
What’s more, cannabidiol doesn’t just reduce pain, but also reduce the underlying inflammation. The use of CBD hemp oil can also reduce the risk of diabetes by reducing the inflammation in the pancreas, improve insulin production and boost immunity.
Owing to the powerful benefits associated with its use, cannabidiol has now been legalized for use by many states for patients affected by PTSD. It has also been found to work wonderfully as an antipsychotic in patients suffering from conditions such as schizophrenia.
Epilepsy patients have now also turned to CBD as a potential treatment thanks to its ability to reduce the recurrence of seizures. In fact, a study conducted in 2015 found that it was also able to show improvement in patients affected by treatment-resistant seizures, and around 2% of those patients went seizure free!
CBD has gained even more popularity after it was able to completely stop a child’s grand mal seizures.
Individuals affected by nicotine addiction can also benefit from the use of CBD hemp oil. A recent study has found how its use was linked to a 40% decrease in smoking.
In addition, cannabidiol has also been used to treat cancer and reduce the intensity of side effects associated with cancer treatment. Cannabidiol hemp oil is not a miracle cure for a disease, but it can certainly bring relief for neurological disorders and even cancer. If you’re looking for a holistic wellness option to help treat specific health issues, CBD oil might be right for you.
What’s the Right Dosage, how much should I take?
Unfortunately, when it comes to natural remedies, which some individuals consider CBD to be, there is no way that a specific amount can be recommended. Everyone’s body processes and metabolizes things differently. We have heard of some people with a particular condition and a particular weight taking a certain amount. And, we have heard of other people who have the same situation and same weight who either take much more or much less. Of course, some of this variation in How Much to Take has to do with the actual quality of the cannabidiol (CBD), but more often the variation has to do with the individual. So, be aware that regardless of what you read, either on the product packaging showing a particular serving size or online in a forum or someplace, your use will most likely involve some experimentation to find just the right amount for you.
CBD is usually taken orally (for medicinal purposes) and in the tincture form. Some of the general guidelines revolving around the intake of CBD include
- 5 to 15 mg daily for general health.
- 5 to 20 mg daily for the treatment of chronic pain.
- 40 to 160 mg daily for the treatment of sleep disorders.
- 150 to 250 mg daily for Neurological Diseases
- 200 to 400 mg daily for Diseases related to Cancer
For individuals who are using CBD for the first time, determining the right dosage can be a bit confusing, if not daunting. The basic idea to keep in mind is that the ideal dosage for CBD varies from individual to individual.
For instance, individuals with sleep disorders may need high doses of CBD to experience relief from their symptoms, while individuals with arthritic pain may require a significantly lower dose to start seeing positive results when it comes to their health.
Individuals who are just looking to stay calm and experience a sense of relief can benefit from a very low dosage of CBD.
If there’s still a sense of confusion or uncertainty associated with the right dosage, it is best to start with a small dose, and then gradually go up until the best health benefits are observed, especially among individuals who are trying it for the first time, and are not sure of the exact dosage that may work for them.
It is also important to note that individuals with different physical characteristics may have different reactions and may need a different dosage of CBD. For instance, well-built people require a higher dose, while people with a smaller body can see benefits and results with lower doses too!
Seeking the help of a medical professional to decide on an appropriate dose for CBD, especially for first-time users, could be a good idea.
Just like nature, the process is gradual, so don’t expect instant results. It takes a minimum of upto 3 months of daily use to start seeing the full effect. So kindly be patient and let the miracle oil take its course naturally.
